« En mars 2016, le Secrétaire général des Nations Unies a créé le Fonds d’affectation spéciale en faveur des victimes d’exploitation et d’abus sexuels, comme indiqué dans son rapport sur les dispositions spéciales visant à prévenir l’exploitation et les abus sexuelles (A/69/779). Le Fonds d’affectation spéciale soutient les entités des Nations Unies et les organisations hors système des Nations Unies, qui fournissent une assistance et des services d’appui aux victimes ».

À noter que le Fonds d’affectation spéciale n’est pas conçu comme un programme d’indemnisation financière et ne versera donc pas de fonds directement aux victimes individuelles et / ou aux enfants nés à la suite d’exploitation et d’abus sexuels.
