“This is a step-by-step guide to assist InterAction members in developing and implementing policies to prevent and respond to sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) of beneficiaries and vulnerable members of the community in countries where members work. The intention is to make the process easily understandable and applicable to one’s own organization so that any staff person at any organization can pick up the guide and use it to get started—or to enhance and expand on what they already have in place. While the text of this guide is designed to review the steps as if they come in a chronological order, this may not be the way your organization will deal with these steps in reality. The graphic below illustrates the various entry points for starting the process of launching an SEA system for your organization. It is expected that the content of the guide will need to be adapted to more accurately fit the mission and mandate of each agency.”
