Safeguarding Children and Young People Policy Guidance: Safety on Online Platforms – Plan International

“The digital world is a vast and largely unregulated space and that the online safety, security and protection risks for the young people we work with are complex and multi-faceted. Therefore, we must make all reasonable efforts to manage those risks when using these platforms while making the best use of the benefits they offer. This guidance recognises both the benefits and risks and seeks to guide staff in how to leverage digital tools effectively, responsibly and safely, while minimising risks to beneficiaries. This document aims to provide guidance on the use of online platforms by Plan International in our work with children and young people worldwide. It is intended to be used by staff and other stakeholders engaged in projects/initiatives/approaches who want to use online platforms as enablers for participants to privately communicate, network and get access to information etc.”
